This project was born with the will to be built, to build city and neighborhood at the same time. There are two scales to which we want to respond with this solution. We believe in opportunity as a generator of a set of infinite possibilities, and this hinged place between plots of the city is the right one for that.
On the one hand, we understand the meridian as a new green corridor that connects spaces with green potential, creating a transition from the vegetal to the mineral between the 22@ and the Eixample. We enhance this fact by creating a continuous green that binds all the limits. Here, transition and neighborly relations are key to achieving an atmosphere of peace and comfort. Naturalize the city to create spaces of calm.
On the other hand, the sports center is located in the most logical and sensible part, creating as much park as possible, conferring a space of relationship with the building of Carrer Sancho d’Ávila and generating a volume of very low impact inside island but with three facades that will allow good lighting of the track. This will also be illuminated from above with a set of skylights integrated into the park. The track will become a new space with the potential to create urbanity caused by the transparency of the sporting activity, generating a bright environment in the houses on Carrer Pamplona.
The track emerges very calmly like an elemental rectangular prism due to its optimal construction. The bleachers area is located below the park with views outside. The changing rooms will be arranged below them. The administration and the access hall make up the other important point of the project. We configure with this piece the clarity of the user’s movement.
