Expanding the Barcelona T. S. School of Industrial Engineering is not only about providing the UPC with more space, but also about taking the opportunity to update and build the university of the 21st century: a climatic and social campus that responds to today’s most urgent needs, climate change and social integration.

We believe that what we build is just as important as the void we create: the proposed central square emerges as a large courtyard for exchange and meeting among students, organizing the new volume, which is divided into three clear, linear pieces.

The central volume rises as a counterpoint to the two existing towers, freeing up as much ground space as possible and adding a new entrance to an ETSEIB that is more open to students and, ultimately, to the city of Barcelona.
